As a proponent of Islamic Speculative Fiction (http://nova-sf.de/internova/?p=447), I am always on the look out for good novels and stories with Islamic elements, so it gave me great pleasure to come across Diana Wynne Jones's novel, "Castle in the Air." The Islamic elements are quite prominent. The protagonist is a likeable, young, resourceful, love-struck carpet seller named Abdullah. The story has good and bad jinns (both free and imprisoned in bottles). The novel is entertaining with a very satisfactory ending. The novel works on YA as well as adult level. Highly recommended.
